Gas Transportation To Armenia Has Temporarily Been Suspended
20 February, 2012
Gas transportation from Russia to Armenia has temporarily been suspended due to a gas leak on the 65 km of the North–South Pipeline.
Georgian Gas Transportation Company is conducting liquidation works. The representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and GOGC visited the damaged section of the pipeline. According to them, liquidation works are underway and gas transportation to Armenia will presumably resume tomorrow.
At the request of Armenian side the pipeline worked at full capacity in the last several days and increased volume caused the leak on the abovementioned section of the Main Gas Pipeline.
