George Chikovani meets the management of Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company

George Chikovani, General Director of GOGC accompanied by Nikoloz Pitskhelauri, Commercial Director held a meeting with Magdy Galal, Executive Managing Director of Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company, and Yasseen Mohamed Ahmed, Vice Chairman for Operations and Natural Gas Grids during the business trip in Egypt.
The main goal of the meeting was to discuss the future cooperation between GOGC and Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company. The focus was made on the current situation in the region and prospects of the energy sector, considering the current challenges.
The parties reviewed the issues and the needs on the agenda of GOGC. Particular attention was paid to evaluation of the natural gas market in Georgia and plans for the close and the distant future.
"This is the first meeting between the Georgian and the Egyptian gas companies and thus, it is very significant. Egypt is rich in gas resources and carries out export of natural gas and LNG. In addition to gas export, Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company also makes investments in new fields and infrastructure projects. Naturally, cooperation with this company is promising for our country and GOGC. This will serve as an additional factor contributing to diversification of gas supplies." – stated George Chikovani.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed willingness to enhance mutual cooperation and planned the future steps.
