Ambassador of USA to Georgia visited ongoing rehabilitation works at main Gas Pipeline

Today the Ambassador of USA to Georgia, John Tefft visited ongoing construction-rehabilitation works on Rustavi rehabilitation sector conducted under the North-South Gas Pipeline Rehabilitation project. The event was also attended by Frances Reid / Deputy Vice President of MCC, George Abdushelishvili / Executive Director of MCG, representatives of the Ministry of Energyand GOGC.
Rehabilitation works on the North-South gas main pipeline is implemented under MCC energy infrastructure rehabilitation project. II phase of ongoing construction works includes rehabilitation of 9 different sections. Georgian joint-venture New Energy-Tbilisi-Sakhidro, the winner of the international tender, performs the construction works (contract value 8.7 million GEL). The rehabilitation works have been launched in autumn, 2008 and will be completed by spring, 2009.
