The Tender On The Procurement Of Necessary Materials For The Construction Of 29 Km Section Of Abasha-Senaki Pipeline Was Held At GOGC.
The tender was attended by the representatives of participating companiesandThe United States Agency for International Development(USAID).
Twelve companies expressed desire to participate in the international tender. Seven companies submitted bidding documentation. GOGC Bidding Committee will study the documentation and declare the winner in the nearest future.
The construction of 700 mm of Abasha-Senaki pipeline is planned within the framework of the agreementpromoting energy security signed between Georgian government and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The construction of the pipeline will start in spring, 2012.
The Unites States Agency for International Development (the USAID) and the Government of Georgia have entered into an agreement for assistance to promote energy security through greater access to electricity and natural gas supplies for households in Western Georgia, promoting the development of Poti Free Industrial Zone (FIZ) on the Black Sea coast, and secure power exports through reliability related infrastructure improvements.
